Whitening Solution
These days many people are now trying to have personality
updated & for this first thing they need is beautiful
& impressive smile. This is possible just when you
have the white teeth. Thus there is a huge rush for
the teeth whitening products or treatments, irrespective
of price and side effects. The hydrogen peroxide teeth
whitening is getting very popular nowadays however before
drawing to any conclusion it is very important to know
of this chemical and effects.
Also, it is used as the antiseptic in medical field
and at times it is been used in the household as teeth-whitening
product. Actually idea is more is the percentage of
the hydrogen peroxide, whiter will be your teeth. However
you should be aware of side effects, which it has on
teeth and overall health prior to using it.
Main side effects of the hydrogen peroxide whitening
process are the sensitive teeth and the irritation in
gum and mouth that is due to its reactive characteristic.
And this chemical works very well on teeth as well as
helps whiten teeth to larger extent and is considered
very safe by dentists & ADA. But in case you see
any side effects then there is not a lot to worry as
these are temporary. One important thing is hydrogen
peroxide has short shelf life & it breaks down quickly
when it comes in contact with saliva and oxygen.
There are a few limitations that you should know so
that you will not get very disappointed after making
use of it. In case you have the colored filling in teeth
or else porcelain teeth, then gold teeth and teeth covered
with other material, the hydrogen peroxide will cannot
penetrate them & so results might be not as desired.
Actually before using any of this product you should
go through pros & cons of this product so you choose
on own whether it is useful and effectual for you. It
is possible that the cements and the dental amalgams
may react with the chemical and leave the porous teeth
that can be refilled.
Hydrogen Peroxide is highly reactive chemical that
is made of oxygen and hydrogen. This chemical is used
widely to bleach paper & textile, as well as is
used as the disinfectant in medical field, in household
and is main ingredient that is used to whiten the teeth.
The normal concentrations are 3% and will go 10%. General,
more peroxide, greater will be the whitening power.
Side Effects
Because Hydrogen peroxide is a reactive chemical two
most common side-effects are mouth & gum irritation
and increased tooth sensitivity to the temperature changes,
but both these effects are temporary. The hydrogen peroxide
solution works well as it will easily pass through the
teeth enamel and start interacting with dentine &
pulp part of the tooth. Research have shown this doesn’t
harm and effect enamel part of tooth & is considered
very safe by ADA.
Carbamide Peroxide
Hydrogen peroxide & Carbamide peroxide must not
be confused since they are different from one another.
Hydrogen is faster reacting chemical & has short
life. When it is mixed with saliva and oxygen, the hydrogen
peroxide breaks very fast leading to the shorted teeth
whitening sessions. The Carbamide Peroxide was made
to slow down this process of decomposition so peroxide
will last longer and give teeth whitening effects, and
have longer shelf life.
What It Does not Effect
Hydrogen Peroxide can’t change color of fillings,
ceramic teeth, porcelain teeth, gold teeth and other
materials as hydrogen can’t penetrate surface
layers of all these materials. But it will effect porous
dental work like cements & dental amalgams, however
the effect is negative by making it softer and more
soluble. This also has proven being effective &
safe remedy for a number of individuals. Lots of people,
in same respect, make use of peelings that will protect
lemon. This technique is more effective in case you
add table salt to peeling.
